GREAT VALLEY - Robert L. Nelson, of 4709 Raecher Road, passed away Monday (May 14, 2018) shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital.
Born July 30, 1957, in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late George E. Nelson and the late Gertrude Dekay.
Robert proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1974 to 1975. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting coins and money.
Surviving are his adopted parents, Leonard and Nancy Frazier of Bliss; his children, Yolanda Gross of Olean, Crystal (Wayne) Imhoff of Great Valley, Tiffany (Thomas Shelley) Daso of Olean and Jonathan (Megan Moretti) Nelson of Smethport, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; five siblings, Fred Nelson of Florida, Art Nelson of Olean, Tammy Milliken of Salamanca, Patricia Ullman of Pennsylvania and Wanda Lafferty of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one grandson, Dakota Nelson.
Private funeral services will be held Friday (May 18, 2018) at the Guenther Funeral Home, 1303 E. State St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorials if desired may be made to the Allegany American Legion, Charles Harbel Post 892, 4350 Route 417, Allegany, NY 14706.
