Mother Everee Ruise McCray, affectionately known as "Ree" was born May 8, 1930, to the late Elder Ora Ruise, Sr. and Florida Mae Givens Clayton. Mother McCray entered into eternal rest on May 11, 2018, at her residence. She was educated in the Baker County School System. Mother McCray was employed with the Northeast Florida State Hospital, Macclenny, Florida for several years and Reynolds Dry Cleaners, Macclenny, FL and with the VA Hospital, Lake City, FL, until her retirement. After retirement, she became the proud owner of McCray's Barbecue pit located in the Watertown Community where she worked until her health failed. Mother Everee McCray was united in marriage to Bishop Lucious McCray. Unto this union, three children were born. Bishop McCray precedes her in death. She was a faithful member of Zion Temple Holiness Church under the leadership of her Husband, Bishop McCray, until his demise, then under the leadership of her son, Elder Bernard McCray and, daughter, Overseer Loretta McCray-Ellison. Other precedents in death: step-father, Willie "J P" Clayton; step-mother, Leona Ruise; brothers, L.T. Holton, Robert Clayton, Wade Clayton, Curtis Clayton, Hamp Jones; sisters, Oradean Davis, Ida Mae Smith, Martha Minors, Merdis Paige and Ruby Lee McCray.
Left to cherish precious memories: Son, Elder Bernard McCray (Judie); daughters, Florida Mae Troupe, Overseer Loretta Ellison (David); eleven grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sisters, Nadine Norris, Alfreda Givens (Coatsie); brothers, Alvin Clayton (Mary), Alphonso Ruise, Ronnie Ruise (Kim), Ora Ruise, Jr. (Pansy), Elder Joe N. Ruise (Lakesha), Leo Ruise (Vanessa), brothers-in-law, Thomas McCray, Rodney Jefferson (Denise), Keith Jefferson; sisters-in-law, Angelina Tolliver, Deloris Taylor (Charles), Delary Patrick (Troy); hosts of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Mother Everee Ruise McCray's life will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at New Zion Temple Holiness Church, Florida Street, Lake City, FL, Bishop Henry Smart, Officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at New Zion Temple.
