Gerald Frederick "Jerry" Principe
1940 - 2018
Gerald Frederick Principe, 77, passed away May 15, 2018, after a long battle with Dementia and Parkinsons Disease. Jerry was born on August 2, 1940, in Kenosha, the son of the late Emil D. and Ruth A. (Frederick) Principe. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Bradford High School. He later studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. He was employed at Ken-Crete and Ladish Tri-Clover. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1971. On August 9, 1984, Jerry was united in marriage to Patricia (Loney) Ruffolo. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church.
Jerry enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas to visit his son Scott. He was an avid sports fan, cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed going to car shows, the 7 Mile Fair, and golfing. His greatest love was spending time with his six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and was a gifted story teller, as any of his grandchildren can attest to.
Jerry will be sadly missed by his wife, Patricia; his three step daughters, Roxanne (Robert) Patrick, Pamela (Dr. James) Fulmer, and Lori (Robert) Barengo; his grandchildren, Larry (Liz) Yszenga, Daniel (Manda) Yszenga, Dr. Kaleigh Fulmer (Jake McGhee), Sophie Fulmer, Bobby Barengo, and Rich Barengo (Melanie Ibarra); his great-grandchildren, Payton and Nolan Yszenga, Mason, Talan, Hank and Ivy Yszenga, and Violet Barengo; and siblings, Janice (Richard) Johnson, Jack (Margaret) Principe, and Pamela (John) Hauptmann. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott G. Principe; his parents; and his brother, Charles M. Principe.
Visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home, on Friday, May 18, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, May 19, at Proko Funeral Home at 11 a.m. followed by full military honors. Memorial contributions can be made to Parkinsons Research, Dementia Research, or the family.
