Kathleen Murphy McNamara
PEORIA - Kathleen Murphy McNamara, 80, of Peoria passed away at 7:37 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at Rosewood Care Center.
Kathleen was born on December 2, 1937, in Peoria, a daughter of Charles and Mary Murphy. She married Michael T. McNamara on October 14, 1961, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2013.
Kathleen is survived by one sister, Ellen Zang-Dillon of Palos Park, IL and one sister-in-law, Maureen McNamara of Peoria.She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by one brother, Brian Murphy, and nephew, Mark Zang.
Kathleen attended St. Mark Catholic Grade School and graduated the Academy of Our Lady in 1956. She graduated Barat College Sacred Heart of Lake Forest with a Bachelor's of Art Degree. She and Michael lived in Geneva, Switzerland for two years and traveled extensively. She was a teacher in the Peoria area for many years.
A Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2018, at Resurrection Mausoleum with a one hour prior visitation. Msgr. Jason Gray will officiate. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Entombment will follow mass in the Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Hospital of Illinois.
