JACKSONVILLE - Emanuel J. "Red" Waller, Jr., 89, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Rev. Vernon Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park. Friends will be received prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Waller owned and operated service stations for over 35 years in Onslow County.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Sarah (Sug) Waller.
Survivors include his three sons, Emanuel Jay Waller, III and his wife, Barb of Winston Salem, Michael Philip Waller and his wife, Rita of Jacksonville and Timmothy Wynn Waller and his wife, Donna of Crawfordville, FL; one sister, Naomi Hotsenpiller and her husband, Jim, and their children, Donna Finders and Chanda Hotsenpiller of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Matthew Waller, Daniel Waller, Michelle Elliott, Krystal Harrison, Ashley Miksch and Brent Bailey; and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express special thanks to sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and Glenn Fisher, sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Shep Hill, brother-in-law, Troy Humphrey, and the entire Verona Community for all their love and support.

Uncle Red was always a favorite. He had a wonderful sense of humor and would always make my daddy laugh. Uncle Red visited my Dad daily in the nursing home prior to My Dad's death. I miss you uncle Red and prayers to the family. Love you, Brenda
