Donald Day
Cold Spring - Donald L. Day, 86, of Cold Spring, passed away on May 24, 2018 at his residence in Cold Spring, Ky. Don was born January 16, 1932 to Jesse Roscoe Day and Elva Mae Harrod Day who both died in 1937. He was raised in the old Orphan's Home in South Newport for 14 years. Don graduated from Newport High school in 1951 where he played football. Don was drafted in the U. S. Army in 1951, where he served in the 40th Division during the Korean War. He was a medic on the front lines when the war ended. He was a retired Equipment Engineer with Cincinnati Bell and a member of the Henry Barnes Masonic Lodge #607 F&AM. Don is survived by his wife of 64 years Joyce Roettger Day, daughter, Linda (Tom) Murphy, sons, Don (Becky) Day and Steve (Susan) Day. He is also survived by his grandchildren Britteny (Tom) Garcia, Roslyn Day, Casey Murphy, Jesse (Casey-girl) Murphy, Anton Day and great-granddaughter Grace Lung. Visitation 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Funeral Ceremony will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery Southgate, Kentucky. Memorials are suggested to the Holly Hill Children's Home, 9599 Summer Hill Road, California, Ky 41007. Online condolences can be given at www.dmefuneral.com.

Dear Family,
I just found out about Uncle Don's passing. My memories of him were of a loving father and husband. His handsome smile and kind nature were always present. I remembered how he loved his dogs as well. Just a very sweet, giving man.
