Tammy Kay (Davis) Hyland passed away at the age of 71. Her family held a private service on May 23rd at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Tammy was born to Francis and Ethel Davis in 1947 and had 1 brother, Ronald Davis who preceded her in death. Tammy married John Hyland on February 12, 1966 and had two children, Tiffani (Hyland) Noah and Shaun Hyland. The family grew when Shaun married Laurie (Hester) Hyland and Tiffani married Kent Noah. She had 6 grandchildren, Macy, Abby, Andrew, Jaxon, Emily and Colby.
Tammy worked at Eugene Stud and Veneer after she married John and stopped working when they had their first child. Once she became a mom that was her full-time job and loved every minute of it. When her first grandchild was born she knew her true calling and was over the moon in love. Family was very important to Tammy, she was the best Grammie ever and spoiled all 6 of her grandkids whenever she could.
Tammy was on the Big Brother Big Sister board for several years and was always involved with the Thurston High School Booster Board. Anything that would benefit her kids she embraced 100%. Her family drag raced for years and she was their biggest supporter and even took a turn in the race cars herself. Tammy loved dancing as a young girl and into her 20's with a group of ladies she danced with in her youth. She was an amazing baker and loved, cooking (including cooking shows and posting recipes on Facebook), gardening, drag racing, her Corvettes, Tweety bird, and spending time at the family cabin with friends and family. Her nick name was the "Energizer Bunny" because she just kept going for many years while battling sickness. She was a strong believer in God and is now reunited with her family and friends that are in heaven.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Tammy June 2nd, 2:00pm at Northwood Christian Church in Springfield, Oregon. Her family welcomes friends and family to join them in celebrating and remembering this amazing Wife, Mom, and Grammie.
Memorial donations can be made in her name at the Eugene Mission.
