Ann (Bechtel) Potts, age 78, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side after a lengthy illness on May 30, 2018.
Ann was born in Reading and was the daughter of the late Ellen Bechtel Walker.
She attended Reading High School. She worked as a seamstress for Danskin in York for many years and retired from Coyne Textile Services in York. She was a longtime member of the York Democratic Club. She enjoyed traveling, taking trips to the beach and taking cruises. She particularly enjoyed her monthly dinners with friends and co-workers and she cherished the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Jones, of Dover; Donna Fair, of Titusville, Fla.; and Tammy Potts Byrne and husband, Neil, of Lancaster; her grandchildren: Katie Jones Nickischer and (husband Peter), Ashley Jones, John Jones and (fiancée Tiffany) and Delaney Byrne. She is also survived by her brothers, Gerald Bechtel and wife Shirley, and David Bechtel, all of Oklahoma; her sister, Grace Laughman and husband, Harlyn, of Spring Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Bechtel; and her sisters, Maryellen Clay and Jackie Genther.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove with Rev. Katherine Seiler officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
