Mr. Henry R. Macina

Henry R. Macina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 90. Henry was born and raised in Northampton, Massachusetts to Wasyl and Eva Macina. He graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1949. Henry honorably served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lackland AFB. After leaving military service, he remained in San Antonio and started his Civil Engineering career at R. Marvin Shipman & Co. Henry, along with two associates, acquired the firm in 1975 and served as President of Macina Bose Copeland and Associates, Inc., until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of both the Texas and National Societies of Professional Engineers. Henry served on several ministries at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, including the Building and Physical Plant committees, Eucharistic Ministers, St. Vincent DePaul, Mobile Loaves and Fishes, and Grief Ministry. He also served as treasurer of the Water Garden Club of South Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Leta J. Macina, and sister Dorothy Viger. Henry is survived by his daughters, Debra Sutton and husband Chris, Diana Rose and husband Mike; grandchildren, Lauren Sutton, Caitlin Rose, and Jadyn Rose; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Henry was a devout husband, a supportive father, and a loving grandfather who lived his incredible life with a strong faith in God and a fierce dedication to his family. We will miss him dearly but find comfort in knowing he lives on through every person who had the immense honor of knowing him. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. MASS THURSDAY, JUNE 14, 2018 11:30 A.M. ST.
