Lawrence "Larry" Scharenbroch
Newton - Lawrence J. Scharenbroch, 89, formerly of Newton died peacefully Sunday morning June 10, 2018 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. He was born December 19, 1928 in the Town of Meeme, son of the late Joseph & Cecelia (Schad) Scharenbroch.
Larry attended Holy Trinity Grade School and was a 1946 graduate of Kiel High School. He furthered his education at U. W. Madison, taking the Farm and Agriculture Short Course. On November 22, 1952 he was united in marriage to LaVerne Zill. Larry was a milk truck driver in his younger years. He farmed in the School Hill area and later near Osman until his retirement. Larry was a past president of the School Hill Co-op, a board member of AMPI and was a member of the Cleveland Fire Dept. In his free time he enjoyed playing cards, fishing for blue gills, and watching baseball. He especially enjoyed the weekly stops at the local pub with his friends where they solved all the worlds problems.
Survivors include his wife LaVerne, sons; Peter (Gloria) Scharenbroch of St. Nazianz, Carl (Nancy Jo) Scharenbroch of Janesville, Dale (Kim) Scharenbroch of Valders, Tim (Brenda) Scharenbroch of Portage, Jerry (Jill) Scharenbroch of Newton, Jeffrey (Karice) Scharenbroch of Manitowoc & Kieth (Sherri) Scharenbroch of Newton, his daughter; Beth Ann (Scott) Woepse of School Hill, daughters-in-law; Michelle Scharenbroch of School Hill and Elizabeth Scharenbroch of Malone, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law along with many nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sons; Michael and Wayne, along with numerous brothers, sisters and their spouses.
According to Larry's wishes a private family service was held. Entombment took place at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
Larry's family would like to thank all the nurses and staff, especially Tim, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc for the care and friendship given to Larry.
