John "Jack" Burns

Toms River - John "Jack" M. Burns 90 of Toms River passed away June14, 2018 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, Jack was a Steel Salesman for the Joseph T. Ryerson Company, Jersey City. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an avid runner and completed 3 New York City Marathons. Surviving is his wife Claire T. Burns, his son John "Jack" Burns and his wife Jane, his daughters Claire Bien and her husband Dennis, Donna Sichta and her husband Paul and Meg Armus and her husband Steve. Also surviving are his 11 cherished grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visiting will be on Monday 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 9:30am at St. Luke RC Church, if you like you can arrive at the funeral home 8:30am. Entombment will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations to Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, Browns Mills, NJ would be appreciated. www.silvertonmemorial.com.
