She was a lifelong resident of West Haven, CT. She never traveled far from home, her priorities were taking care of her family which was the most important thing to her. Over the years, she took care of her children, siblings, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She loved shopping, always hunting for a bargain. Her passion was cooking, she was famous for her homemade macaroni, pizza and spinach bread. You could never visit without eating something delicious. In her younger years she loved trips to the casino playing slots, poker and dice. She was the queen of bingo and loved a competitive game of pinochle. She was a world class ironer and always commented if your jeans didn't have a crease. At 95, she was still able to knit, making hundreds of pairs of socks to donate to the VA at Christmas. And let us remember as Chickie would say "Don't get old".

So sorry to read of Chickie passing I'm away on vacation or for sure I would have attended. I was the girl that did her hair when we were on Elm Steet and she worked for Fred Divta. Twenty years she was my customer. I was so happy to stop by the house months back. And see her her memory was good that day we shared some old stories! And she said thank you and offered me a pair of socks for my husband! ! Chickie was a honest say what she believed on many subjects but with a heart of gold I learned and appreciated so much from her.. may she RIP
