Kathryn Shultheis Obituary

Kathryn C. Shultheis

Binghamton - Kathryn C. (Ferguson) Schultheis, 41, passed away suddenly on June 16, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained in an accident. Katie is survived by her daughter, Cherise Schultheis, and her parents: Emily and Mike Sheldon, Sam and Jackie Ferguson, her brother George Ferguson, nephews Tyrone and Donald, niece, Aryana, step-siblings: John (Patty) Townsend, Patrick (Beth) Townsend, Karen (Richard) Matolka, Mary Beth Townsend and fiance Mark Boglioli, Colleen (Travis) Hayes, Kathleen (Kevin) Blake. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members also survive.

In her early years Katie lived in Berkshire and attended Newark Valley Schools. She was selected to participate in American Music Abroad and was accompanist for many of the school plays as well as various talent shows. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Berkshire where she was active in its youth group and lately has served there as music instructor. Katie received her Associate Degree in Music Therapy from BCC and her Bachelor Degree in Math Education from SUNY, Cortland. She was an incredibly talented and inspiring musical role model...pure of heart, with unlimited patience who showed kindness to all. She had a grand smile, an infectious laugh and was a great encourager. Katie served as pianist/organist/vocalist/guitarist and bell ringer as well as children's choir director and youth group leader at Fairview United Methodist Church in Binghamton. She was also employed at Alorica in Endicott. She will be greatly missed.

Katie's family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home 5 Whig St Newark Valley. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Katie's beautiful life will be held at 4 pm on Saturday at the Fairview United Methodist Church, 254 Robinson St. Binghamton with her Pastor Janet B. Clark officiating. Her guestbook may also be signed at macphersonfh.com
