FRANCES BOWSHER Frances K. Bowsher, 99, of Las Vegas, passed away December 28, 2017. Frances Ruth Kawaski was born March 28, 1918, in Miamisburg, Ohio, to Frank and Thelma Kowaski. Fran had two younger siblings, Robert Kowaski and MaryJane Balzuweit (both deceased). After high school, she worked at Delco Products. She would meet the love of her life, Wilson Bowsher, at a YMCA dance in 1940. Wilson and Fran were married October 2, 1945. In January 1951, the couple moved to Las Vegas to work at the Nevada Test Site. Fran would leave the Test Site in 1955 to go back to school for her broker's license, later working at UNLV. Fran enjoyed spending time with her family, tap dancing, knitting, working at her church (knitting caps for the homeless, the Renew program and opening and running the gift shop) and sailing the Pacific coast with Wilson until his death in 1990. Fran is survived by her son, Donald (Debbie); grandchildren, Donald (Desiree), Laura (Doreen) and Lisa (David); great-grandchildren, Lacey, Daylen, Dawsyn and Lennyn; and many nieces and nephews. Celebratory Mass in her honor will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5830 Mesa Park Drive, Las Vegas. NV 89135. A small reception will follow. Fran's love for her family was boundless, "A bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck!"
