HANOVER TWP. — Susan Ruth Powell, 76, of Shickshinny Lake, Union Township, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 5, 2018, with her grandson by her side.
Born and raised in Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late William G. and Katherine (Everett) Nelson.
Susan was employed by Glen Lyon Garment for many years until retiring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Albert (Bud) Powell, on Aug. 2, 2001; and a brother, William Nelson.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Powell, of Shickshinny Lake; a son, Jeffrey Powell, of Hanover Township; a grandson, Jason Powell, of East Rutherford, N.J.; and a sister, Linda Bonhamer, and husband Lee, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; as well as nieces and nephews.
Susan's family is planning a private celebration of life. Interment will be in Albert Cemetery. There will be no public services or calling hours.
Arrangements are in the care of Clarke Piatt Funeral Home Inc., 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek.
