Patsy Ruth Gaida neé Price was born on November 7, 1931 to parents John Perry Price and Vonie Mae Dunn. Patsy had three sisters – Johnnie, Louise, and Mary of whom she always spoke fondly.
Patsy lived a full life to the age of 84 years when she departed this world on October 8, 2016. Throughout her life, Patsy married Joe Gaida, bore four sons, cared for numerous grandchildren, and fawned over her multitudes of great grandchildren. There was nothing that “Granny” loved more than her grandchildren. Some of her favorite days were spent sitting on the porch or working in the garden with her grandchildren clustered around her. For anyone raised in her kitchen, we all know Granny was a terrible cook – but she could bake a mean chocolate cake; a recipe that survives through her granddaughter, Hailey. Granny always had cokes in her fridge and fudgescicles in her freezer for anyone who entered her home.
Pasty was a deeply religious woman. She read her bible, talked with Jesus, and prayed for her family and friends each day. Walking through her house, you’d see bibles verses posted on the walls and doors. Anyone who visited her or spoke to her on the telephone heard “Jesus Loves You” at least three times in the space of a conversation. It gives her family great comfort to know she is finally walking with her Lord and that she is now watching over all of us.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, sister Johnnie, and husband Joe. She is survived by her sisters Louise and Mary; her sons Bill, Clay, Jeff, and Ted, 12 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
