Douglas Paul McClure

Douglas Paul McClure, 78 of New Haven died peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of thirty five years to Francine Manning McClure. Douglas was born in New Haven on March 18, 1940, a son of the late Samuel Arthur and Coretta Isabelle Warfield McClure, and was a lifelong city resident. He was a service/information clerk for the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation for eleven years, retiring in 2000. Douglas proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. He is also survived by five daughters, Renee Perry, Karissima (Vincent) Ross and Shenora McClure of New York, Aleka Manning of Hamden, and Tawana McClure of New Haven, two sons, Douglas Paul McClure, Jr. of New Haven and Paul (Nicole) McClure of California, two sisters, Genevieve Edwards of Hamden and Madrue Tompkins of Eaast Haven, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Douglas' family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 13th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Ebenezer Chapel, 50 Dwight St., New Haven. A funeral service will take place at the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
