Mom was an inspiration to all who knew her. She strived to be the best she could be in so many aspects of her life. She graduated from nursing school at the age of 55and worked in various health care institutions where she was affectionately known as "Sarge". She was a second mom to many where she would inspire them to be their best and help them in any way she could to pursue their goals.
Mom was an avid gardener which she proudly and enthusiastically pursued up to a few weeks before she became a guardian angel.
She kept close with her family and life-long friends and would call for a get-together whenever the opportunity arose. She will be terribly missed by all those who knew her. Now more than ever she would want us to remember her favorite saying, "Keep your chin up".

Pauline, Losing one's Mother is never easy but I hope you can take comfort in knowing you were able to be with her as she passed. Reading her obituary, I recognized the same caring, hard-working and loyalty to friends traits in you that she had. Remember, those traits - her love and warmth - did not die with her. They live on in you and the many people she touched. And in that way, she will always be with you. I wish you and your family peace and comfort.
