It is with great sadness that the family of Lynette Whitney announces her sudden passing on Monday, July 9, 2018, at age 54.
Lynette was born June 5, 1964, in Connecticut, but spent her youth in the Quad Cities area of Illinois. After high school, she attended Eastern Illinois University, eventually relocating to Austin, Texas, where she married and had her three daughters. She spent the past 14 years in Savannah, Ga., where she loved her beach life. Last week her immediate family was blessed to have spent the entire week together in Savannah, much of that time together on the beach. Lynette will forever be adored by her three daughters, Hollie (Alex), Taley and Staci (Vince). Known to them as "GiGi," she also left behind her true pride and joy, her precious grandchildren, Liam, Emma, Aiden, Carson and baby girl on the way, to be named Lynette. Lynette also will be fondly remembered by her mother, Marcia, and her brother, Greg (Erin). She was also very fond of her extended family that included many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Tom and Eileen Royalty of Clayton, and George and Annabelle Whitney of Quincy; an uncle, Carson Whitney of Quincy; and aunt and uncle, Mark and Helen Kim of Mason City. SERVICES: A celebration of life in memory of Lynette was to be held Saturday, July 14, at the Island Sports Bar and Grill, 348 Johnny Mercer Blvd., Savannah, Ga. 31410. A future celebration of life will be announced for her Illinois friends and family in the near future. MEMORIALS: To her grandchildren's future education funding, in care of Taley Alarcon.
