Gail Karanian Obituary

Gail F. Karanian, 70, of Suffield, beloved wife of Dr. George K. Karanian, passed away at her home in Suffield surrounded by her loving family Saturday, July 14, 2018.

Gail was born on Sept. 16, 1947, in Manchester, daughter of the late William Arthur Scudieri, Sr. and Helen V. (Vitz) Scudieri. She grew up in Enfield and fell in love with her husband George whom she married 50 years ago and created a beautiful life together, filled with the love of many nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren, and friends. She enamored all with her beauty, kindness, and warmth. The roles she cherished most were those of wife, mother, and grandmother. Gail treasured her time with her grandchildren, teaching them piano and art and cheering them on at their athletic events and activities. She gave her love selflessly to all and filled many hearts with warmth, joy, and laughter. After Gail raised her three children, she obtained her nursing degree and worked for 20 years as a registered nurse, passionately advocating for her patient's care before retiring from St. Francis Hospital, Hartford.

Gail is survived by her beloved husband, George; her son, John K. Karanian and his wife, Deedee of Powhatan, Virginia; two daughters, Jennifer H. Karanian Lansford and her husband, Jeremy of Paso Robles, California, and Gina V. Willcutts and her husband, Sean of West Suffield; seven grandchildren, Zachary George and William Dyer Karanian, Georgianna Lee and Alexandra Rose Lansford, and Ava Rose, Kate Elizabeth, and Gabrielle Valentine Willcutts; and her two brothers, William Arthur Scudieri, Jr. and Philip M. Scudieri. She was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Scudieri, and a sister, Donna Hudson.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, July 18, from 4-7 p.m. at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Route 159), Suffield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 19, at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Road, Suffield at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield.

To Gail's family: I was one of Gail's preceptors at SF Hospital when she became a nurse. I LOVED working with her....always a kind word and so eager to earn. We quickly became wonderful friends-during and off shifts. Her face would light up when she spoke of her family...so proud of everyone. She was one of the BEST RNs I had the honor of working beside.

To my dear friend Gail: I regret not keeping in touch with you. There are so many great things I would have to share...the wedding of my daughter Sarah...and the birth of my first grandbaby Presley! I miss those get-togethers at Evergreen Walk and Blue Back Square. I have added my favorite pic of you and me. I will treasure those memories always. May the Blessed Father keep you forever in his loving arms Gail

My beautiful aunt.......
Now a Heavenly Angel
Rests peacefully
Where her light Shines Brightly
Forever........
As a reminder to all she leaves
To Love and comfort each other
....... to celebrate life daily
Precious.......
Look to the heavens,
I trust that God has a plan
Especially for her beloved husband (Uncle) George
Look to the heavens........
You now have gained an Angel
To watch over and guide you all
