My sympathy to Gabrielle and all the Jarvis family and offspring. Michael was a wonderful father to his children and was never short of a witty or wise remark. His love of music always caught my attention as he sought the purest way to reproduce recorded classical music.
Lots of memorable philosophical discussions took place on my visits to Canberra in the late nineties. A pleasure to remember. May he rest in Peace

I'm very sad to hear of Michael's death, and am unfortunately not able to attend his funeral as I am overseas. I will always remember Michael for his wit, his kindness, love of music and willingness to share his opinions on philosophy and theology. An incredibly clever and deep thinker who will be forever remembered. My deepest condolences to the family at this very sad time.

Mike was a great inspiration to me when we first came to Canberra in 1977. Over the years, through his philosophical, theological and scientific discussions, he inspired and challenged me to explore new horizons and new ways of thinking. As his illness started to manifest some six years ago, I was deeply impressed that he commenced PhD studies at the John Paul II Institute exploring the theological meaning of suffering. Never once did I hear him complain about his plight. I will miss you Mike.
