Rose Baumeister
Kewaunee - Rose K. Baumeister, age 99 of Kewaunee died on August 2, 2018 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center. She was born on November 24, 1918 in Kewaunee to the late John and Delia (Drab) Kanera where her parents operated the country store and her father owned a cheese factory in Carlton.
After high school she completed cosmetology school. She married Gilbert Baumeister on August 12, 1941and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1977.
She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary parish and the Rosary Society. She made many generous donations to Holy Rosary Parish and many charities including the American Cancer Society, Knights of Columbus, Feed the Children Fund and various Veteran related charities.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter: Gene (Mary) Baumeister, Sturgeon Bay; Carol (Peter) Vanier, Georgetown, MA; William Baumeister, Kewaunee; three grandchildren: Tim (Sarah) Vanier, San Francisco, CA; Noel Vanier, Auston, TX; Christine (Scott) Sawyer, Stratham, NH. They have had wonderful memories of their visits to Kewaunee and the fun times they shared with "Grammy Rose". She was further blessed with five great-grandchildren: Genevieve, Winston, Luke, Brooke and paige. She is further survived by one nephew and three nieces along with special friends, Dennis and Amy Gallenberger. She was preceded in death by her parents,sisters: Elsie Granchalek and Hattie Lipsky-Mueller and her father-in-law and mother-in-law:: Henry and Julia Baumeister.
Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11 at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. James Dillenburg. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Atrium of Kewaunee and Silver Leaf Manor for the care they provided over the last four years, along with the EMTs and staff at Aurora Baycare Medical Center.
