Leroy Myers Obituary

Leroy (Bud) Daniel Myers, 90, of Venice, Florida and White Lake, Michigan passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018. He was born June 6, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan.

Bud graduated from Denby High School, attended Michigan State University and served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force.

After retiring from 31 years at GMAC, Bud and Marion moved to Lazy River, Venice, Florida where Bud enjoyed many decades, eating his wife's desserts, making new friends, playing cards, bowling and swimming daily. He also enjoyed leading many groups, including Commodore and life-long member of the Lazy River Boat Club. He especially enjoyed planning cruises with Marion.

Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marion (Skrypek) Myers; children, Catherine (Dennis) Zurla, Sharon (Mark) Montague, Daniel (Wantana) Myers, Tim (Edith) Myers, Julie Fee (David) Merola; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his faithful companion Max.

A celebration of Bud's life will be held on Sept. 7, 2018, 10 a.m. at San Pedro Catholic Church, followed by a military service at 12:30 p.m., Sarasota National Military Cemetery and a luncheon at 1:30 p.m.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Tidewell Hospice, in memory of Leroy (Bud) Myers. www.tidewell.org
