James Morton "Jim" Odom Jr., 90, of Kingston, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at the Roane Medical Center, Harriman.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was past chairman of deacons, longtime Sunday school teacher, taught the Jamestown Bible class and served on many mission trips. Retired from ORNL. He was a past president and member of the Kingston Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Odom; and parents, James and Lela Odom.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Tommy Sircy, Nashville; grandchildren, Heather Sircy and T.J. Sircy, both of Nashville; sister, Nancy Parrish, Harriman; and great-grandchild, Mattison Sircy.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Kingston First Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Parrish, Dr. Dale Darley, the Rev. Jody McLoud and the Rev. Gary Alley officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kingston Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 215 N. Kentucky St., Kingston, TN. 37763.
