Robert Djurovic Obituary

Published by D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home on Aug. 11, 2018.
Robert Slobodan Djurovic, age 59 of Oakland Township, died Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Ascension Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He was born August 17, 1958, son of Ana (nee; Vukelic) and the late Rodomir Djurovic. Robert Djurovic was born in the capital city of Belgrade, Serbia on August 17, 1958. He immigrated to America with his parents and 5 year old sister, Romana from Paris. The family eventually settled in Detroit. Soon his youngest sister, Sonja was born. The family was now complete. He always had a knack for talking and connecting with people (just like his mother Ana and father Radomir), so it was only natural that he became head of his sales division leading people to success. Leading people was his destiny and, soon, so was meeting his beautiful and equally kind wife, Paula. Paula was the love of his life and quickly told his family that fact when he first met her. He cared for her child Melissa as if she was his own, and within time they had their son, Jonathan. Jonathan was his pride and joy and Bob included him in everything he did,… traveling abroad and always being well loved and cared for. Bob took all of life's simple occurrences and turned them into teaching opportunities. Jonathan's lemonade stand wasn't just a lemonade stand... it was a freshly squeezed lemonade stand where people paid $6 for a glass. Bob saw the good in everything and always helped people along the way with a kind word or deed. He naturally rose to success in his profession and always kept God in the center of it all. His mentor was Eddie Stingley, a christian pastor with whom he was very close from his teenage years until today. An immensely kind, considerate and loving son, brother, husband and father is his legacy. Surely he has a mansion in Heaven. Robert Djurovic is one of a kind and we were fortunate to have him in our lives. His mother was his guiding light and his father, his hero. He is survived by his wife, Paula; son, Jonathan; daughter, Melissa (Kyle) Boeve; grandson, Abel; mother, Ana; sisters, Romana & Sonja (Gino) Buffa; cousins, Ankica and Mirko; and Uncle Misha and Aunt Dusha. He also leaves behind his best friend, Jimmy McBride and dear colleague, Bill Sullivan. Visitation for Robert will be held Tuesday, August 14th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Funeral Services for Robert will be conducted on Wednesday at Bethesda Christian Church, 14000 Metropolitan Parkway in Sterling Heights. He will lie in state from 10:00 am until time of the service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Eastlawn Cemetery, Lake Orion, Michigan on Orion Road at the corner of Stoney Creek Road. Please share memories of Robert at his guest book above.

Bob,

The time we had with you was short, but the impact you made on us with last a lifetime. I've never worked with someone that had a bigger heart. The warmth and love you shared for our team was reminiscent of a fatherly figure. You're constant positivity and ability to motivate those around you was truly inspirational. It was an honor to work with you these past 4 years.

Thank you for your guidance, sincerity and most of all your friendship.

It is hard to believe you left. It was always a pleasure to meet you and I really liked our conversations. I can remember still exactly our first personal contact when I picked you up at the hotel in Cologne, giving you a drive to the Headquarters. Seems like it was yesterday.
Rest in peace, dear Robert!

Dear Paula and family, I send you my deepest sympathy and wish you lots of strength to withstand this difficult time.

Dear Djurovic Family and Friends,

From the bottom of my heart my sincere condolences to the whole family.
A man that would light up the whole room with his smile and kindness, never did he have a bad thing to say about anyone.
I will miss Bob for sure, from your little black book, your double double coffee (that I had to ask what you meant on how to order this), your luncheon for the whole team at work, to just sitting down and chit chatting life in general.

He will be missed by all, Rest in peace Bob.
Thoughts & Prayers for you all.

I interviewed Bob in 2015 in Detroit and was struck by his energy, motivation and his ideas how to drive business. Few weeks later he was on board. We not always had the same opinion regarding business but this is also what I expected from him. I have highly respect for what he has achieved. He was great with clients, had a great sense how to drive sales and to lead the team. Beside that I highly enjoyed each discussion with him and listening to his opinion. It was great spending time with him and I enjoyed each conversation. He was a very fine person and I will truly miss him.

Dear Djurovic Family,

Bob was a great person and I am truly and heartfelt sorry for your loss. Meeting and talking with him was always inspiring on a profesisional level and, more importantly,, more than pleasant on the personal. Because Bob was a people person he always had a genuine interest in his coworkers. Whenever he came to visit our office, his presence was positive and cheerful. It was a privilege to have known and worked with Bob.

I wish you all the strength you need.

At a previous company Bob worked at, he hired me. Before 911 you could get to the gate at the airport to meet someone. Bob told me to hold up a big "A" to identify myself. I printed out a big "A+". With that, Bob smiled that Bob smile and said "you are hired. Lets go and get lunch."

The world seems a little less brighter today. That said. With some of the discussions we had, I know he is in a better place.

My condolences to the family.

Dear All,
Thanks for sharing Bob.
Bob was a gentleman and kind hearted. Bob saw the best in everyone. The aforementioned words are not enough but I am from the south, enough said? We were in Manhattan for a World Business Forum and a street person asked Bob for money. Bob opened his wallet and handed him money. I said Bob you should not pull out a wallet full of money in NYC it could be gone in a second. Bob said you never know they could be an angel. Bob is with the angels now perhaps one he gave a donation to.

Dear Family, friends and many colleagues;

On behalf of Bob's many colleagues in his most recent business life, we share with you our deepest condolences and wish for you to know the profound sadness being felt by all. For me, I knew Bob for 3 very-short years and wished I had the opportunity to work with him for decades. He personally made a major contribution to my career and I enjoyed long chats with him, 'the man who's phone was always ringing' and yet he took the time for me and anyone needing some excellent coaching and a caring ear. He was genuinely a shining lite of positive energy and creativity. His problem-solving and communications on challenging matters was simply brilliant. Underneath the hood was a world-class Gentleman that cared with all of his heart for other people before himself.

He departed us all too soon, myself and many others are sending our most genuine respects for he and his terrific family. It breaks me up to know he was helping me with a matter from the hospital just last week. All of us wish we had more time with him. May the family know his recent works were as awesome as his younger years.

Thank you for the work that went into this memorial site for Bob for those grieving and yet allowing us to know more about his massive list of friends and wonderful family.

Our family always looked forward to Bob's west coast visits over the past 30 years.
Bob went to church with us when visiting and we had great times visiting Catalina Island, Big Sur and Pismo Beach.
The good times and laughs were endless. The man put the "cool" in world business traveling.
Hard to put into words how much he meant to us all and how much we will miss him.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,a
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me

Here is a photo of Bob from high school. Most of us had to try hard to be cool, but Bob didn't, he was born with it. He was definitely a cool dude!!

When Bob started school here in Michigan in what I believe was the 7th or 8th grade, most of us kids for the first week thought he was a substitute teacher. He was much more mature than us local kids and looked at least 5 years older.

I became good friends with Bob in school and it stayed that way through the years. He visited a lot when I was living in California and he and Paula had us over on occasion around the Holidays when my wife and I were home for Christmas to visit my family. I always looked forward to that!

One time when Bob was visiting California back in the 90's and he wanted to go down to San Diego on a day cruise to Mexico. We got to the ship and they were taking photos of all couples as they were arriving. When it came to Bob and I, people were looking at us funny. We soon realized after that it was Valentine's Day, and Bob and I were the only male couple on the ship. I wish I could find that photo!! We were the brunt of a lot jokes that day, and we rode each other on that for years after.

Bob was great wholesome stand-up guy and he will be missed!!

Bob was an energetic person who always illuminated the room with his bright ideas. I enjoyed running into him in the TUV Newtown office-many great conversations about his celebrity encounters.
He was a joy to work and he will be missed.

I remember when the Djurovic family moved into the neighborhood in Warren. Bob and I became friends right away. He was always a true friend as we both grew up, always there for each other. Bob always looked older than he was back then, which for a teenager, that came in handy since Bob could pass for 18 when he was only 15 or 16. We did a lot of crazy things together all through our high school years. I think one of the reasons we were such good friends was that we both put family first. Even though we both lost touch with each other in our adult years, I'll never forget the times we spent together growing up and becoming men. You'll always be in my memories, my friend. My prayers now are for his wife, Paula, their children, and his mom and 2 sisters. May God bless you with His peace and comfort through this difficult time.

Dear family we can not put into words how we feel about the loss of Robert, he brought so much joy and happiness to all of you. I remember way back when he and some partners owned a computer business around 1985 way before desk top computers. He sold me a compaq trans portable computer for my office. It weighed about 30 pounds and you could carry it around. Bob was so patient in teaching me the computer. Glory to God for this awesome young man who was so positive. Ana your son touched so many people, Romana and Sonja your brother loved you both and Paula you were an angel who came into his life and was his helpmate and then you birthed Jonathan And Bob was a man who experienced much fulfillment in being a father. May God watch over all of you during this time of great loss. We love you all so much
