James Dennis Salaki, 70, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
James was born June 26, 1948, a son of the late Nicholas and Pearl Woll Salaki.
He served in the Army in the Vietnam War.
He retired from Barta Bus, Reading.
He was a member of Summit Station Fire Company. His hobbies included playing pinochle, gambling at the casino and drinking Old Milwaukee.
He was the husband of Christine Mangine Salaki.
James was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and William.
James is survived by two daughters, Stacy Salaki, Orwigsburg, and Jamie Salaki, Schuylkill Haven; a son, Jim, Missouri; four sisters, Sandy Talley, Arizona, Joann Shupp, Summit Station, Marry Ellen Phoronezny, Pine Grove, and Susan Jefferson, New Jersey; four brothers, Nicholas, Independence, Mo., Joseph, Lancaster, Robert, Williamsport, and John, Independence Mo.; two grandchildren, Paul James Frantz and Avalon Marie Kimmel.
A religious service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grabowski Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Peggy Sue Pfeiffer officiating. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, family prefers donations to the VA Lebanon Cancer Center or Summit Station Fire Company. Grabowski Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, is in charge of arrangements.

I remember him when you started working for me. we were friends for 40 some years. I lost Bill 3 and a half years ago and it doesn't get any better. God bless .
