Peter John Mossner, of Midland, was escorted by his guardian angel to the Throne of God in Heaven on Aug. 17, 2018, after a brave and courageous battle against cancer for nearly a year. Peter was born in Saginaw, April 29, 1962, the youngest son of Eugene D. and Yoko (Ito) Mossner. He spent his childhood and much of his adult life in Saginaw, attended Bethlehem and Good Shepherd Lutheran schools, and was a member of the first graduating class of Valley Lutheran High School in 1980. Following high school, he attended Delta College where he received his A.A. degree and later, Central Michigan University where he received his B.A. degree in 1984. Following his graduation, since there were few good jobs in Michigan, he drove to Clearwater, Fla., where he worked for the nearby City of Largo for nine years, as its management information systems operator. But the desire to see family and friends again in his native Michigan ultimately caused him to move to Midland, where he obtained a position in the Management Information Technology division of The Dow Chemical Co., and worked for nearly 20 years. He retired from Dow due to downsizing and outsourcing of their computer work in 2016. While attending special courses at Delta College, in order to obtain training and work experience in another area at Dow Chemical, throat cancer, and later esophageal cancer was discovered, and he began extensive treatment at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, which unfortunately was not successful. Besides being a devoted worker in his chosen field, Peter enjoyed music and played the bass guitar in several local bands, including The Shaydes and One Track Mind, was an avid Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan football fan, and was often found at a Loons game in Midland, watching the "home team." He was avid Beatles fan, collecting books about them and many recordings of their music. He also assisted many family members and friends in maintaining and "trouble-shooting" their home computers.
Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Eugene and Yoko Mossner of Saginaw; his sister and brother-in-law, Christine (James) McGuinness of Saginaw; his brother, David and companion, Carrey Rae Singer of Bay City; a dear aunt, Doris Braman of Midland; cousin, Bonnie Braman of Midland; cousins, Theresa McGuinness, Livonia, Marissa (Mrs. Greg) Otter of Royal Oak; an uncle and aunt, Yukio and Yuko Ito; and cousin, Osamu Ito of Yokohama, Japan; cousins, Sachiko (Mrs. Hajime) Washizu of Nichinomiya, Japan, Tomomi (Mrs. Takemi) Mori of Yokohama, Japan; a cousin, Tsukasa Nabeshima and his wife, Denise of Hertfordshire, England; his rescue cat, Miko; and a host of other family members and dear friends.

Dear Yoko and Eugene,
Please accept my deepest sympathy. The loss a child is always the hardest blow to overcome, one that every parent dreads. May your faith assuage the pain and sorrow this loss has given you and may we all pray for a tomorrow where we are together with none of the pain of this world, but all of its beauty, and so much more. God bless you. May Peter's memory be eternal.

My sincere condolences, I had the privilege of playing with Pete in THE PROCESS for a few years. Pete played bass guitar. I really enjoyed the shows we did together, his playing was tight and he always looked cool. I've never met a nicer person as well. RIP Pete

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Mossner, Christine, David and family and friends, I am so very sorry to learn of Peter's death. I saw that handsome smile and I remembered the little boy I so loved so many years ago. There are no words of comfort I can offer. Peter was blessed to have such a wonderful, loving family. May happier memories bring all of you comfort in the days ahead. With much love,
