Mr. Donald “Rooster” Jackson, 65, of Union City died Monday, August 27, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union City.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018, at the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
Donald Jackson was born on January 27, 1953, in Fulton, Kentucky, to Ralph Jackson and the late Dorothy Rose Jackson.
He graduated from South Fulton High School in 1971. He enlisted into the National Guard and then later into the United States Army. He is a retired carpenter. Donald was a “jack of all trades”. He is well known across the West Tennessee area, mostly by his saying, “SHO-NUFF”.
Donald was united in holy matrimony to Sherie Humphrey on September 5, 1975
Donald was a faithful member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church for over forty years where he sang in the choir and faithfully served as an usher.
Donald leaves to cherish his precious memories a devoted wife, Sherie Humphrey Jackson; one son, Sean Jackson (Chanell); two daughters, Lorraine Lightner and Donna Jackson and six grandchildren, Jaylen, Malachi, Aubrey, Alexia, Jaxson and Derek “Bubba”. He also leaves his father, Ralph Jackson (Margaret); one sister, Deborah Jackson; one brother, James Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Rose Jackson and two brothers, Ralph Jackson, Jr. and Daniel Jackson.
