Sorry to hear of Ed's passing. He was my supervisor at SIMA from 1995 until he retired. We had a good relationship and he was always very supportive. Sadly, his position was never replaced after he retired despite my written point papers. I can honestly say that his expertise was noticeably missed and I believe the laboratory he ran was never up to the same caliber again. I am now in my third year of retirement and thoroughly enjoying it. I hope Ed's retirement was equally enjoyable. I do not attend funerals as I prefer remembering people as I knew them; but I do not want to miss passing on my great appreciation of Ed and offering a small snip-it about him. Thank you Ed for the time we had working together at the Navy and passing on to me some valuable lessons -learned about dealing with the numerous political issues I eventually encountered.
