James F. CassinTROY-James F. Cassin, 80, died September 1, 2018. Jim lived in Troy all his life and was the son of the late James and Margaret Honan Cassin. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and served in the U.S. Army. Jim was employed in the newspaper industry, retiring as a photojournalist from the Daily Gazette. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and was an avid skier and scuba diver. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Josephine Honan Cassin. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Ave. at Parkview Court, Troy and at 10:15 at Sacred Heart Church, Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Thursday from 8 until 9:30 a.m. Donations in Mr. Cassin's memory may be made to Sacred Heart School, Troy. http://www.lastingmemories.com/james-f-cassin
