Mr. John McDonald, age 68, of Roswell, Georgia went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 7, 2018. He entered the gates of heaven after passing peacefully surrounded by his wife and family. He enjoyed many years in the automotive industry with GM and as a car dealer and moderator, but what truly defined the man was his love for Jesus, family and friends. He loved making memories at the mountain cabin or beach with grandchildren running about. John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a leader among men who was deeply loved and well respected by all knew him. John touched many lives and led an exemplary life and has left a wonderful godly legacy for all to follow and he will be greatly missed.

John is survived by his wife Jo McDonald, daughters; Melissa Heckathorn and husband Casey, Kelley Zakeri and husband Dan, Christina Brummel and husband Jonathan, Anna McDonald; a son, Scott McDonald and wife Sarai; a sister, Marybeth Cunningham and her husband Chuck; a brother, Tim McDonald and his wife Aili and grandchildren: Natalie, Madelyn, Olivia, Nathan, Lauren, Audrey, Anaeli, Alex, Giovani, Liam, Beau, Gracie, Teddy, and Fitzgerald as well as nephews Jason Pallas and his wife Jenn and Ryan Pallas.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 15, 2018 starting at 10:15 a.m. in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Woodstock, 11905 Hwy 92, Woodstock, Ga 30188.

In John’s true fashion of giving, friends and family may, in lieu of flowers, make a contribution to serenadeheights.org/donate or to Samaritan’s Purse at  https://sampur.se/2NxJrMK.
