Bobby Burns Jones 86 of Hoover, Al. passed away September 22, 2018. He was the son of the late Jewel & Johnny Jones of Goodman AL. He graduated from Enterprise High School . He served two years in the Army during the Korean War. When he was discharged from the Service he attended Troy University where he received his B.S. Degree. He joined State Farm Insurance as an agent in 1968. He still maintains an office in Hoover. Being a top producer he and Barbara have traveled extensively with their State Farm Family. He loved his job helping his clients. Bobby loved boating and going to the beach. He also loved his church, Lakeside Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Austin Jones, his son Burns, grandchildren Izzy, Christian, Zach, and Rochelle, and Rich Van Pelt from Tampa. His sister Sylvia Padgett (Jack) from Elba, and brother Doyce Jones(Callie) from Enterprise. His nephews: Kyle Padgett, Jeff Jones, and Brad Jones; many cousins and friends. A visitation for Bobby will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Lakeside Baptist Church, 2865 Old Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, AL 35243, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. at the church. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Meadowlawn Memorial Park Cemetery 6121 Highway 27, Enterprise, AL 36330. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lakeside Baptist Church Building Fund. Barbra I am so sorry to hear about Bob. I pray that God will give you comfort in this time of loss. Bob and all of you in that State Farm Office have became wonderful friends and have always been far more than someone handling our insurance.
