Every youngster growing up needs to have a neighborhood mother like we had in Dorothy. I cannot begin to count the hours spent at her home during the summer or after school. She was always kind and supportive, even when her late husband cheated at "Kick the tin can." I can laugh at that now. She drove us to the YMCA to swim in the summer, maybe to get us out of her hair, but regardless of her motives, you never heard a grumble or complaint. She was the Mrs. Cunningham of the neighborhood and will be dearly missed. My sincere condolences to the entire family, but especially to her daughter Theresa with whom I spent all those formative hours with.
