Marilyn Sue Nonweiler

Marilyn Sue Nonweiler, 86, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Nursing Home. She was born March 15, 1932 to the late Clinton and Valice Downey. Marilyn was a member of Settle Memorial Church for over 50 years. She along with her husband, Charles operated Charlie's Key Market for over 27 years. Marilyn enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was also a Girl Scout leader for several years. Most of all, Marilyn loved her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She was an extremely sweet, kind, and generous woman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Nonweiler in 2013; her son, Charles "Brent" Nonweiler in 2002. Survivors include her daughter, Teri Gumbel (Fred) of Naples, FL; her son, Mark Nonweiler (Debra) of Philpot, KY; her grandchildren, Michelle Brenner (Alex) of Lexington, KY, Shaun Nonweiler (Amy) of Owensboro, Matt Gumbel of Plano, TX, and Kaitlin Nonweiler (Jose) of Philpot, KY; her great grandchildren, Alexander and Mackenzie Brenner, Ella and Easton Nonweiler; her brother, Jerry Downey of Boonville, IN. The service will be 2PM Monday, October 15, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Rob Tucker will officiate. The entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be 12 noon until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
