Gilbert L. "Gib" Gleckl, 71, of Latrobe, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at home. He was born Aug. 11, 1947, in Latrobe, son of Gilbert N. Gleckl (deceased) and Florence (Dillon) Gleckl (deceased). He was a retired steel worker, having worked for Standard Steel and, following retirement, obtained his radiological technology license. He was a member of Latrobe Presbyterian Church and served in the Navy from 1965-1968. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Gleckl; a brother-in-law, Bill Hoyle; and two sisters-in-law, Pinky Aukerman and Bonnie Keahilihau. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Tessie (Nace) Gleckl; three children, Robin Robl and her husband, Paul, Erica Hauser and her husband, Eric, and Diana Onifer and her husband, Mike; five grandchildren Nick, Nikki, Michael, Aaron and Bailey; two sisters, Betty Jo Alexander (Jim Thomas) and Debbie Hoyle; two brothers-in-law, Joe Nace and Del Nace and his wife, Paige; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Terney and Janet Anderson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Frederick Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Clark R. Kerr officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. Military honors will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home by the Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard.
