Elsie M. Moore, 92, of Portersville passed away peacefully at her residence Friday.
Born Aug. 24, 1926, in Center Township, she was the daughter of the late Roy W. and Velda Young Kerry.
She was married for 51 years to Frank E. Moore, who passed away Dec. 18, 2002.
A consummate mother and homemaker, Elsie was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals, baking pies and having dinner parties for her family and friends.
Elsie had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of the First Church of God in Ellwood City. She was a talented musician and shared her talents at church, serving as their organist for more than 62 years.
Elsie graduated from Lincoln High School. She worked at the Portersville Elementary School for many years as the cafeteria manager and also for Kerry Coal Co. as a weight master for more than 60 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mindy (David) Daugherty of Portersville and Marla Myers of Rockledge, Fla.; three sisters, Bonnie (Don) McKinsey, Wanda Garras and Linda Kerry; three brothers, Vernon (Michelle) Kerry, Dr. Roy (Nora Lee) Kerry and Gail (Gena) Kerry; four grandchildren, Jay (Stephanie) Daugherty of Portersville, Jon (Shawna) Daugherty of Butler, Mark (Felicia) Myers of Weston, Fla., and Matt (Clara) Myers of Vero Beach, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Jacob David and Anna Lynn Daugherty, Mark Anthony Myers and Alyssa Osborne.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Kerry.
MOORE - Visiting hours for friends of Elsie M. Moore, who died Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City.
Friends will also be received Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. at the First Church of God. Pastor Phil Conklin will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Butler Memorial Cemetery.
