Ruby Smith Rickard

CENTRAL CITY - Ruby Smith Rickard, 86, of Central City, died Monday, November 12, 2018, at 4:41AM at her home in Central City. Mrs. Rickard was born October 16, 1932, in Wood, North Carolina. She lived as a Christian Mother and a homemaker that enjoyed planting flowers, fishing at Danny Byars pond, and loved her Kitty Boots. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene F. Smith; second husband Jack L. Rickard; parents Charlie and Ora Bell Radford; brothers Elbert, Y.C., Roy, Vernon, and Ebb; and sisters Gertie, Marylene, and Flo. She is survived by her sons, Ronnie (Connie) Smith and Derek (Marsha) Smith; daughters Linda Vincent and Kenwyn Rickard; grandchildren Chanda (Andy) Foley, Shawna (Glenn) Cisney, Nicole Smith Harris, Nathaniel Smith, Jared (Alison) Vincent, and Ryan (Jane Ann) Vincent; great-grandchildren Rusti Harris, Tatum Harris, Paige Smith, Taylor Cisney, Reed Vincent, Kate Vincent, and Perry Vincent; great-great-grandchildren Zachary Hughes and Indi Grist; and sisters Linda Hawthrone, Patricia Fleming, and Mae Edwards. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Barry Davis officiating. Burial in Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday after 10:00AM at the funeral home.
