Arvid S. Peterson

ARVID STANLEY PETERSON, age 95, passed away peacefully Saturday morning October 27, in the presence of his son Arvid James Peterson. He was born August 2, 1923 in Seattle, WA, the son of Austin Theophil Peterson and Mary Kraber Peterson. Raised in West Seattle, he attended West Seattle High School and the University of Washington, where he graduated in 1945 with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. After serving stints in both World War II and the Korean War as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, he attended Harvard Business School where he graduated in 1951 with a Master in Business Administration. He met Marianne Barry in San Francisco, where they were married October 22, 1954. They happily lived as husband and wife for the next 62+ years. Shortly after settling in Los Angeles, their son Jim was born and raised. After Jim graduated from college in 1980, Arvid and Marianne moved to the Cleveland, OH area to further his long career with TRW, where he worked in finance. They enjoyed the Cleveland area, where they remained after retirement. Principal among their many activities was membership in The Country Club in Pepper Pike, OH. He also continued to pursue his passion for the stock market throughout his life. Arvid was predeceased by his sister Lorraine Berg, and his wife Marianne. No services are to be held.
