Michalski, Wladyslaw, 100, of Yorba Linda passed away December 4, 2018. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he will never be forgotten by those whose lives he touched. Wladyslaw "Mike" Michalski was born July 22, 1918 in Sniatyn, Poland. He lived there until he left Poland in 1939, escaping from the invading Russian Army. He made his way to France where, as a First Lieutenant, he joined the Polish Army, which was under French command. His unit, with French and British units, were sent to Norway, where he landed in Narvik and fought the Germans there. After the war, Wladyslaw stayed in Scotland and eventually met his future wife, Danuta Zarzycka. They were married for 56 years, until her death in 2007. They immigrated to the United States in 1951. Wladyslaw worked as a Mechanical Engineer until retiring in 1986. He is survived by his daughters, Martha Aquino, Theresa Rosales, Lilian Peters; sons-in-law, Joseph Aquino, Raymond Rosales, William Peters; grandchildren, Brandee, Brittney, Ashley, Joshua, Jacob; grandchildren-in-law, Johnathon and Jordan; great grandchildren, Olivia and Easton. Viewing will be Sunday, December 9th, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, Fullerton. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held Monday, December 10th, beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. Martin de Porres Parish, Yorba Linda. Following the Mass, interment will be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary

Mr. Michalski was a friend of my father, Tadeusz Krala, during the war. I had the pleasure of meeting him in his home in the early 1980s. I wish I had stayed in touch.
