David Wardlaw Obituary

WARDLAW, David Courtney David Courtney Wardlaw, 41, died peacefully in his home in Austin, Texas on December 11, 2018 after battling cancer. He was born on March 28, 1977 in San Angelo, Texas to Anna Trimble Wardlaw and H.R. Wardlaw III. David graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1995. He was a recipient of the high school Faculty Award, which was based on character, citizenship, and academics. David attended the University of Texas in Austin, where he graduated with a B.A. in economics and a business foundation certificate from The McCombs School of Business. He was an active member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a passionate supporter of The Texas Longhorns. David obtained a Masters in Health Care Administration at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He was a hospital administrator at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Dallas, Texas for many years. David married his beloved wife and best friend, Elizabeth Fegley Wardlaw, on February 6, 2010 in Austin, Texas. They have three beautiful children together, whom he adored and loved wholeheartedly. David was an avid outdoorsman. His enjoyment of the outdoors and appreciation of nature started at an early age at the family ranch located on the Middle Concho River in Tom Green County, Texas. David was a fourth generation owner of the ranch. He was an expert hunter, fisherman, and practiced stewardship of the land. Since David's birth, he spent most all of his summers in Creede, Colorado, where he became an accomplished fly fisherman. Above all, David's love for his family superseded everything in his life. David is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Fegley Wardlaw, daughter Anna Elizabeth Wardlaw (6), daughter Catherine Falk "Kate" Wardlaw (3), son William James "Will" Wardlaw (19 months), devoted brother Michael Trimble Wardlaw, his wife Shannon Thomas Wardlaw, and their son, Thomas Brooks Wardlaw, all of Austin, TX; his loving parents, Anna Trimble Wardlaw and H.R. Prayers to all the families.

Perge!

December 14, 2018

We are so saddened over the death of this young man. Only the peace and understanding that God can give will help us all to understand why a young man with such a beautiful family was called home this week. To all of the Wardlaw family, know that we grieve with you and we love you. We pray for God's healing love to give you peace in the days ahead. God's plan is not always our plan for our lives but we must put faith in Him and trust Him to see us through the darkest hours.

Our love to each of you,
Artie and Lucille Butler
