Dorothy Boschert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 20, 2018.

Dorothy Ann Boschert, nee Dreisewerd, 92, Columbia, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

Dorothy, a former processor, was born Nov. 8, 1926, in Cottleville, to John Dreisewerd and wife Cecilia, nee Witte. She married Glennon H. "Whitey" Boschert Feb. 8, 1949, in Cottleville; they were married 58 years before his passing in 2007.

Dorothy was a devoted Catholic and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Warrenton. She was a stay-at-home mother and a farmer's wife, and later retired from Shelter Insurance. Dorothy and her husband were partners in the farming operation, and she drove a tractor in the fields and helped with all aspects of the operation. Her tractor skills were impressive. Dorothy was a lifelong fan of Cardinals baseball. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and country music, especially Alan Jackson. Dorothy had nine brothers and sisters, and enjoyed spending times with their families, especially at family reunions. Nothing brightened Dorothy's eyes more than grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her brother, Norbert Dreisewerd, Flint Hill; son, Roger and wife Donna, Kingsville, Md.; two daughters, Mary Lou Mills and husband Tom, and Cindy Roe and husband Jim, all of Columbia; three granddaughters, Alisa Hooper and husband Gary, Kara Krause and husband Shawn, all of Warrenton, and Carrie Clark and husband Tom, Columbia; grandson, Chris Mills, Columbia; four great-grandsons, Brandon Hooper, Luke Quesenberry, James Clark and Oliver Clark; and great-granddaughter, Riley Quesenberry.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and five brothers.

The family would like to acknowledge the care and friendship provided by Morgan Davis and Brenda Righter, as well as the care provided by Dr. Lyndell Scoles and staff, Dr. Tony Spaedy and Dr. Brad Noble. Special thanks to the staff at Boone Hospital for its outstanding care and compassion.

Visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.

A funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Warrenton.

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Memorials to Holy Rosary Cemetery or Masses, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.
