Larry Noreuil
HOPEDALE - Larry Lee Noreuil, 74, of Hopedale, formerly of Pekin, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Hopedale Nursing Home.
He was born on April 30, 1944, in Carlinville to Antone and Jennie Conterio Noreuil. He married Cynthia Francesca Rossi on December 28, 1968, in Hopedale. She survives.
He is also survived by his children, Andrew (Lynne) Noreuil, Nicole (John) Scherer, Phillip Noreuil, Christopher (Jamy) Noreuil and Francesca (fiancée, Richard Morgan) Noreuil; grandchildren, Augustus, Theodore, Benedict, Gwendolyn, Alex, Olivia, Connor, Madilyn, Victoria and Dominic; brother, Stephen (Patricia) Noreuil; and sister, Paulette Weghorst.
His parents preceded him in death.
Larry attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Pekin, Pekin Community High School and Midstate College in Peoria. He was a Real Estate Agent for 40 years, last working for Allen & Associates. He served on the Tazewell County Board for 21 years and was the Pekin Township Supervisor for 26 years. He last worked as the Nursing Home Administrator for Hopedale Medical Complex.
Larry was very active in the Democratic Party. While serving as the Pekin Township Supervisor, Larry instituted the work fare program to give people a sense of pride while receiving food assistance. He also initiated free meals for families in need, including the summer meal program for children out of school and free holiday meals to promote community fellowship. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and Hopedale.
A rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 303 S. 7th St., Pekin, IL 61554, with visitation following from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the church, with burial following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek and Monsignor Timothy Nolan will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopedale Nursing Home or Hopedale Medical Foundation in his name.

A great man who was well respected and deeply missed. He went home to be with our Lord and savior. I have great memories of working g with him. Someday we'll see each other agin.

The Koehne family is deeply saddened to learn of Larry's passing. Larry was the the big brother type who told you the truth, not what would make you feel good. He was an able public servant and mentor to countless others, regardless of party affiliation. He enriched the life of this Republican.
