Dawn (Chaffee) Lennox January 8, 2019 Dawn (Chaffee) Lennox, 76, of Liverpool passed away on Tuesday. She was born in Syracuse on November 3, 1942, eldest daughter of the late Merritt R. and Violet (Day) Chaffee. She was a 1958 graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy and enjoyed keeping in touch with the "Valley Girls." Dawn worked for 25 years as a pharmacy tech, first for Liverpool Pharmacy and then for Medicine Shoppe/ Medicine Place in North Syracuse. Dawn was an avid reader, a joy she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Her children were her true purpose in life. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years with her best friend Judy Peter; a creative person, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlework of all kinds, painting, macram, and stamping. Dawn was a member of Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, where she was in the choir and served on various committees. She was a member of Home Bureau in the 70s. Dawn passed on her love of arts and crafts to her children. There was nothing she couldn't do. She was an avid crossword puzzle aficionado and loved watching TV, especially cooking shows. When he retired, Dawn and her husband Douglas enjoyed visiting the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, day trips to Old Forge and Alexandria Bay, and getting together with family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Douglas in 2005, and her son Scott in 1981. Dawn is survived by her children Wendy (Jonathan) Sardella, Merritt (Kalpana) Lennox, and Jennifer Lennox; grandchildren Jared and Sabrina Sardella, Anu Manne, Jaya and Priya Lennox; sisters Marilyn Jean Johnson and Diane Hakes, several nieces, nephews, cousins and her constant companion of the past 15 years, furbaby Cally. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Maurer Funeral Home Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Warners will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Rosamond Gifford Zoo or The Humane Society of CNY.

To Jennifer, Merritt, Wendy, Marilyn, and Diane. So sorry about Dawn. She was a lovely lady and will be missed by everyone. Sorry we couldn't make the services, but being in San Diego, and the time of year, I'm sure you all understand. I'm glad I got to see Dawn at the last reunion with Dad. I've attached a photo of Dad (Ray Chaffee - Dawn's uncle) and her singing the school song at the last reunion in 2015 of the Onondaga Valley Academy reunion. It was a fun time.
