Eleanor Marjorie Dice, 95, of Midland, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, Jan. 12, 2019. She was born July 9, 1923 to John Gay and Alberta (Bentley) Gay. She married Garold E. Dice on Oct. 30, 1942 and was a loving wife of 69 years until his death in 2012. Eleanor worked at Losey's Jewelry and the Mode Shop for several years.
She was a member of the Homer United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. She and her husband Garold traveled many places, including where they wintered in Florida, where she won many shuffleboard championships. Eleanor had an amazing memory, especially with dates and life stories.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Garlene Glanz, Marla Johnson, Lana (Scott) Maxwell, Douglas (Judy) Dice and Tad (Gayle) Dice; as well as 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce (Dale) Wolfgang.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard Gay, Orville Gay and Leo Gay; by her sisters, Eula DeGuise, Grace Eastman, Leone Wagner and Helen Gay; sons-in-law, John Johnson and Ron Glanz; grandchild, Kory Dice.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at Homer United Methodist Church with Pastor Ernesto E. Mariona officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Homer Township Cemetery.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Heartland Hospice and Homer United Methodist Church.
