Kenneth Lane Roland departed this life to be with the Lord on February 7, 2019. He was an electrical engineer by trade who had a passion for solving problems and knowing how things worked. Kenneth was originally from Danville, Virginia and served honorably in the US Navy from 1965 to 1971. He was a long-time employee of C&P Telephone (now Verizon) as well as Avcom of Virginia, working as an engineer. He helped shape a new generation of IT professionals as a professor at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Henrico, Virginia after moving to the area. As a devoted husband and father, he fostered an appreciation of the practical and problem-solving. Kenneth is survived by his wife Carol, sons Jim and Chris, daughters-in-law Anne and Florence, granddaughters Lydia and Larra, niece Sue, and many others who he had a positive impact on and who will greatly miss him. A memorial service will be held at Bethany Christian Church 5400 Forest Hill Ave in Richmond, Virginia on Monday February 11, 2019 at 200pm.
