Eddie Dean Tipton

Eddie Dean Tipton, age 58, of Brookmont Avenue, Forest City, NC, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. Eddie was born April 20, 1960 in Rutherford County to Reba Lail Poteat who resides in Forest City and the late Charles Tipton. He has always worked in Plastic Manufacturing, having worked for United Southern for twenty years, Wilbert Plastics and currently for Bericap Industries in Cowpens. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of Goodes Grove Baptist Church. Eddie's passion in life was spending time with his grandchildren. His life was characterized by being a hard worker and helping others by being generous with his time and abilities. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robbie Tipton and an infant sister, Cathy Diane Tipton. Besides his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Felicia Tipton; two sons, Brandon Tipton of Boiling Springs, NC and Justin Dean Tipton of Forest City; four brothers, Wayne Tipton (Patricia) of Bostic, Jimmy Tipton (Teresa), James Tipton (Amy) and Scott Tipton all of Forest City. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Makinsey Tipton, Meredith Tipton, Ally Gettys and Jayden Dean Tipton. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Robbie Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
