Charles Hooper Mangrum, 87, of Crestview, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019. He was born June 24, 1931 in Nashville, TN, raised in Farview, TN until he joined the military, he moved to the area in 1969. Charles retired as a SSGT after 20 ½ years of honorable service, he served during both the Vietnam Era and the Korean Conflict, after retiring from the military he worked with Civil Service for another 20 years before retiring again. He was a member of the Airport Road Church of Christ, he was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles and staying home to work in his yard, he also enjoyed being a Golf caddy in his younger years.
Charles is precede in death by his son; Keith Mangrum and his parents Aught and Odell Mangrum. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Shirley Mangrum, son; Mark Mangrum (Lynda), daughter: Dana Sillars (Gary), daughter-in-law; Angela Mangrum, four grandchildren: Charles Terence Sillars, Sara Sillars, Michael Mangrum (Darbe), Claire Mangrum, and one great- grandchild; Soleil Sillars.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019 beginning at 2pm at Airport Road Church of Christ. The family will receive friends beginning at 1pm at the Church.
