Linda Weir Cook, née Linda Weir Crook, age 78, died on Friday, February 8, 2019 in her home in Hollis, NH. She was born on April 4, 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of John Franklin Crook and Andra Zalanskas Crook. She earned a nursing degree from Boston University and worked at Greenbriar Nursing Home (as a geriatric nurse) and Community Council (as an outpatient mental health nurse), both located in Nashua, NH. Linda loved laughter and possessed a wicked sense of humor: she enjoyed practical jokes, self-deprecating humor, and a good accidental fall. Her passion was her family, especially her five grandchildren. She was also a consummate hostess, single-handedly hosting many family reunions, holidays, friends and foreign guests. Linda was a lifelong learner, as well, constantly interested in the many sides of politics, religion and history; she loved a good debate or deep discussion. Linda was predeceased by her brother Jason Franklin Crook of Nashua, NH. She is survived by her former husband, Robert H. Cook of Nashua, NH, her son Robert J. Cook, her daughter-in-law, Elona Ziu Cook, and their 2 children Ardian and Annamaria Cook of Nashua, NH, her granddaughter Sarah Schkoldow of Berlin, Germany, her son Scott A. Cook of Nashua, NH, her son John A. Cook of Nashua, NH, and her daughter, Jennie L.W. Siegel, her son-in-law, Sam J. Siegel, and their 2 children, Abrahm and Rory Siegel of Portsmouth, NH. Services will be held at Saint Philip's Greek Orthodox Church Hall (500 W. Hollis St. Nashua, NH 03062) on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2:30-6:30 pm. A blessing and the eulogies will take place at 3:00. All are welcome. Linda, forever practical and empathetic, would have preferred no flowers; those who wish to do something in her honor are asked to instead do a kind deed for a stranger or donate the cost of flowers to a worthy charity. If you would like to share how you have chosen to honor her, please email [email protected], so that her family may know.

So many people love Linda, she'll be missed by people who love to laugh. She could find humor in so many different types of situations! She really was a fun person to have a wide variety of conversations with. I enjoyed through the years, many different events which she graciously hosted with lots of food, fun, family, and laughter.
My deepest condolences to her large, very loving family. So many people will miss her, they include Jenny, Robert cook senior, Robert Jay Cook, John, Scott. God bless you all, love you guys

My cousin Linda and I began our early years together, but eventually distance kept us apart. But, every time we were able to get together, we had a lot of fun and many laughs. I am very grateful for all my many good memories, and miss her very much.

Linda and my mother rose above their sorrows together; they giggled a whole lot at our "distressed pine"
kitchen table. What could be a better foundation for a friendship? Sorrows are over now for both of them. If there's a heaven, they are drawing disapproving looks for giggling uncontrollably during the most solemn occasions up there. She was a bright spot in my personal history, too.

So sorry for your loss. Linda was special. She taught me what was important in life. Family and humor. God bless you all.
