Grandma Vicky Yates was a grand southern belle. She was the life of the party at louis birthday party. She sang and danced with Elvis. She will greatly be missed by the molina family. May she Rest In Peace and love. She was a strong woman. Raised her kids strong and proud always honoring our country. Vicky was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We were very lucky to have met her and her wonderful family. In lieu of flowers we will honor her memory at a future date with the American legion of Chula Vista. We will have a dinner for our veterans sponsored by the molina family.
God bless Vicky and her family!

I met Miss Vicky when I was a little girl since I've gone to school with her grandkids since we started school. I remember a trip we made with them to the East Coast and it was special for Vicky since we went to the state she was born,Virginia.
She had a warm smile and I loved her southern accent. She had a great sense of humor and was so young at heart. She always made me feel like family. I will remember her fondly and know that she is at peace with her husband.

Mom my emotions are all over feeling like we had so much more time . Im grateful for all the good and bad times . Each holds a memory I will cherish. To be your oldest was no easy task and I didnt make it easy for you at times. Life was not easy but you showed me how to overcome and make the best of things . I laugh when I hear myself talk and realize its just what you would have said. You were always proud of each of us and always made sure to tell everyone my daughters a Nurse. You helped me when you knew I was wrong, you stood by me when I was hurt by ones I love, you gave of yourself , time and money you expected alot and thats what made me who I am today . Im blessed to be your oldest daughter who never wanted you to suffer , loved you ever day, mourn your passing , grafetful for all you did. Ill will see you in heaven one day walking along those golden pavers hugs jackie

I met Vicky at a USS enterprise fire reunion. We had a nice visit, talking about Henry whom I worked very closely with on our VF 96 trouble shooting Team, Henry and I were buds! I wrote a little about Henry in my story "the worst day of my life" in our shipmate Mike Carlins third edition: "TRIAL ORDEAL OF THE USS ENTERPRISE" I remember her as very caring and outgoing. Sorry for you loss, the world is poorer without her. Sincerely Tom Nimsic AME2 VF 96 trouble shooter. USN ret.

Mom ( as I called her) was a beautiful and on the ball women who didn't know a stranger. I've known her since Jackie and I were in the 5th grade at St.Raphael's in St.Petersburg Florida.
I've kept in touch throughout the years of course with Jackie ( we are still best of friends♀) and These last few years back I had the pleasure of spending quality time with Mom in Vegas, as Jackie and I did a girls weekend to attend the Madonna concert (a bucket list for both of us)
But we took Mom out several times, once to a casino and off she would go to the slots machine and was enjoying every minute of it! They also had a movie theater in the hotel which she loved to see movies often. Next, we took her to this Bear restaurant that was covered in bear objects! She admired each one as we enjoyed our lunch... but the best part was when we took her into her own shrine of beanie babies and other beautiful bears she had collected over the years in her apartment home! She smiled from ear to ear as she talked about the special ones she loved. Mom , I miss our calls and know your in a much better place now. Love always,

Vicky was truly a ray of sunshine, whenever we would talk with her she would make us smile and laugh. She was a wonderful storyteller, she was also a fine lady from that Greatest Generation.
When I think of Vicky I remember all the driving she did in being her grandkids chauffeur while her daughters worked. Her family was very fortunate to have her to help raise the grandkids. I will also remember her working part time at Hallmark for a bit, mainly just to get the employee discount which we all benefited from. She had a frog collection, they were all over her front yard also so you always
knew which one was her place. The Story family is like family to us, they might not be in San Diego anymore but they are always close in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Rest now Miss Vicky and go to your place next to your beloved husband.

I had the pleasure of meeting Vicky, along with her daughter Theresa for the first time in 2004 at the 35th Anniversary USS Enterprise Fire Reunion. Health concerns and distance prevented Vicky from attending all of our events but she brightened up every one that she made. Though we have known each other for only fifteen years we have a special bond going back fifty years. Along with all of my shipmates, I was blessed to have her in my life.

Now Vicky has finally joined her husband Henry who she lost so tragically and so young. I wish them the best in their longed for eternity together.

God Bless

Theresa and family....My sincerest condolences, I know how hard this is for you....Remember the good times and the shared memories. The trips. the vacations, the quiet moments you shared. Judging by the pictures of Paris you have lots of great memories to remember her by. Know the great joy you brought to her by including her in these special moments of your life. Rest easy knowing you where there for her when she needed you! I know how much you loved her and all you did for her! Rest easy knowing she knew it too! One memory I have of her was in Old Town San Diego she was a delight....at the wedding reception for Jodi and Marc. She will be in my prayers! God Bless!

Victoria, Vicky, Grams - no matter the name you were loved in each role you played in our life. What a joy it has been knowing you and having you as a part of our family. Jeff fell in love with you from the moment he met you and so did we. How we loved hearing from you and about you and your red hats! Every card was a joy because you plastered the envelope with the cutest stickers and we couldn't wait to see what you had to say inside. It was a party in our hand and frankly a party wherever you went. Your joy of life and love of people could not be held back so everyone in your path got blessed by just being in your presence. You gifted us with Theresa and Ashley who both carry on that loving and giving spirit. We miss you already and love that we'll see you in heaven when all of this is left behind. All our love Billie Ruth and Clint.

Grams,

Thank you for blessing us with your love, your amazing gift of story telling, your humor, your sassy spark & unwavering ability to embrace everyone. You lived a full, awesome life & touched all you came in contact with. Thank you for embracing myself, my hubby & my kids like your own. We didn't know you super long, but you left an impact on each one of us. There wasn't a holiday that went by we didn't get one of your sweet thoughtful cards. You always thought of others first & put everyone before yourself. Something I know lives on in your daughter Theresa & granddaughter Ashley. You were a blessing to us all & you will be missed! We love you Grams!!! Excelsior!!!

My first real memory of my grandma was when I was real little. My mom has just dropped me off in my blue Lion King onesie pajamas and I was crying and screaming because I didnt know who she was and why my mom was leaving me with her. But as time passed by, I grew to know her and love her. She was the cool grandma who let me have toy guns and taught me to stick up for myself, but also to never be shy around meeting new people. Fast forward to when I got my Easgle Scout award, there was a special award reserved for us Eagle Scouts to give out to those who impacted us and helped us along the way. My mom suggested I give it to my grandma, again at the time I didnt truly know why, but now I do. As I look back on my life with her, Im reminded of all the kindness and love that she poured into my life and I am grateful for all those memories. Im glad that I was able to study abroad in Europe because that gave her a one in a lifetime opportunity to come over and see me. She had such a wonderful time and experience there that I know shell never forget. To my grandma, Vicky, I will always love you and remember our beautiful memories that we share throughout your time here. Rest In Peace and just know that you are forever loved. Your grandson, Sean.
