Curt J. Hubert HAMILTON Curt J. Hubert, age 90, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Curt died as a result of old age. He was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, and was a lifelong resident of Trenton, NJ. He was an award-winning husband, devoted father of two, and grandfather of four, who enjoyed making himself a part of the lives of his family and friends. Curt's parents were Joseph Hubert and Mary Hubert (Bobinger). His parents immigrated from Germany to the United States in the early 1920's. It was never lost on his family and friends that he was born from the union of Mary and Joseph He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Lawrence J. Yenchik. Left to carry on his beautiful, and at times burdensome legacy, is his beloved wife of 64 years, Carol Joan Hubert (Godar); son, Craig Joseph Hubert and wife, Susan Elizabeth; Curt's daughter, Cathleen Jane Yenchik; brother, Harvey George Hubert and wife, Elizabeth, and his grandchildren, Carlyn Jane, Cassidy Juliet, Craig James, and Chandler Joan. He also leaves behind some deceased and surviving members of his favorite golfing foursome, Donald "Give Me Another Smasher" Roslonski, Sidney "I'm Going To The Mountain" Ytkin, and Bob "Long Ball" Alu. Also remain many loving nieces, nephews, and friends, including surrogate children, Little Eric and Joey. Curt was a graduate of Washington High School in the city of Milwaukee, and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with help of the G.I. Bill. He served in the U.S. Army as an infantry sergeant during the Korean War. Much of his time was spent in Alaska, fighting off the North Koreans and the freezing cold. He left Alaska and returned to the lower United States when he was honorably discharged by the Army. After graduating the University of Wisconsin with a degree in urban planning, he became a licensed professional planner with the State of New Jersey. For decades, he maintained membership with the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American Society of Planning Officials. During his professional career, Curt was an adjunct professor at Rutgers University. Soon thereafter, he was appointed director of the Green Acres Program in the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, where he was responsible for numerous acquisitions of land for state parks, forests and wildlife management areas. There he also managed the Department of Interior's Land and Water Conservation Fund grant program in the State of New Jersey. When he retired from the State of New Jersey in 1984, he became a consultant with Ron Berman and DKM Properties and later with Howard Berger, a longtime friend and colleague. When he retired for the third time, he volunteered for eight years at East Amwell Elementary School's kindergarten program with Peggy Maglies, where he was able to keep an eye on and interact with his four grandchildren. His supervisory positions with the State of New Jersey more than adequately prepared him for his last professional role with the kindergarten. While not particularly associated or identified with any institutional religious group, he spoke to God often, especially on the golf course, when the Green Bay Packers were losing, and while doing yard work. Curt always hoped that people would take themselves a little less seriously in life and even less seriously in death. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, April 5, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at the Ewing Cemetery Chapel, 100 Scotch Rd., Ewing, NJ 08628. My sincere sympathy to Curt's family. I started to work at DKM Properties in 1986. Curt would visit at the office often to meet with my boss, Ron Berman. I always remember Curt as an upbeat, cheerful gentleman with energy to spare, an absolute piece of work wearing a bow tie. Ron passed away about six months ago, and I am sure he and Curt are talking about the good old days. RIP Curt, you will never be forgotten!

Dear Family:
I love that your dear Curt retired 3 times; and I most love that he volunteered for 8 years in a dynamite kindergarten class to spend time with his grandchildren.

I was saddened to learn of Curt's passing and send my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. I remember the wonderful days when our kids were swimmers and divers for the JCC Summer Swim team, they were halcyon days! We all had tons of fun helping with the meets, having group trips for ice cream at the Parfait House and all you can eat pick and peel shrimp dinners! I especially remember enjoying the Hubert personal fireworks displays on the fourth of July! We sat in our lawn chairs out on the street and were amazed by the Hubert display! The family was all about the joy of life and that is how I'll remember Curt, living by Joie de Vivre! Happiness surrounded them and all were happy who were very lucky enough to be touched by them! Curt will live on in the fond memories of al who were touched by him! Hugs and love to his entire awesome family!
